Passion projects
I hesitated to label this section “videography” since it’s not a profession for me but rather a creative outlet. Growing up, my family had a Sony Handicam ready for special occasions like birthdays and Christmas. Between those events, I would use it to create stop-motion videos, often experimenting with silly putty—one particularly morbid project featured a model skeleton and recording what I estimated to be a second. It wasn’t Gumby-level, but it brought me joy and fed my need to create and learn.
I believe our true passions shine through what we do outside of work. For me, that passion is working with cameras—whether through photography or videography—to help others share their stories. I’ve loved capturing concert videos, interviews, and mini-documentaries for people who can’t afford professional agencies. I don’t have a crew, and I’m no post-production expert, but I improve with every project and truly enjoy the process. If you or someone you know would like to collaborate with a scrappy designer on telling a story through video, I’d love to hear from you—feel free to reach out!
